Fastworks
Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and Fastworks ("Fastworks", "we"). By creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
1. What Fastworks is
Fastworks is a marketplace. Customers post requests for services; businesses and freelancers ("businesses") pitch to do the work. The contract for the service is between the customer and the business. Fastworks is not a party to it and doesn't perform the services, but we hold payments in escrow and mediate disputes as described below.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over and able to enter a binding contract. One person or business per account.
- You choose customer or business when you sign up; it can't be changed.
- Give accurate information. Customers and freelancers verify a Singapore mobile number. Registered businesses verify their UEN against ACRA's register, and the registered name is shown to customers.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
3. Customers
- Deposit. Posting a request takes a refundable deposit (S$10, S$30 or S$50 depending on budget). It's refunded or applied to the job when the job completes, and refunded if you cancel before any business pitches. If you cancel after businesses have pitched, the deposit is forfeited, unless you have a founding free cancellation left.
- Hiring. When you accept an offer, you pay the agreed price (or its first milestone) minus your deposit into escrow.
- Approving work. When the business submits a milestone, approve it to release payment or request changes. If you don't respond within 14 days, it's released automatically.
4. Businesses
- Tokens. Pitching costs tokens; you can bid extra tokens to rank higher. Tokens spent on a pitch aren't refunded if you don't win, except where these terms say so (for example, if the customer blocks you). Tokens have no cash value, can't be transferred, and are lost if you delete your account.
- Success fee. When payment is released, a fee of 3–8% (by category, shown before you pitch) is deducted automatically.
- Earnings. Released payments are held for 5 days, then you can withdraw them to PayNow or a bank account in your name or your business's name.
- Offers marked "Sponsored" or "Featured" ranked higher partly because the business bid more tokens.
- You're responsible for any licences, insurance and taxes your work requires, including GST if you're registered.
5. Refunds and disputes
A customer can ask for a full or partial refund of a milestone. The business can accept or decline. If declined, either side can open a dispute; automatic release then stops and a Fastworks mediator reviews the chat and evidence and decides to refund the customer in full, split the amount, or pay the business. Our decision on the money held in escrow is final as between you and Fastworks, but doesn't stop either of you from pursuing other remedies against each other, for example at the Small Claims Tribunals.
6. Keep payments on Fastworks
Don't ask for or make payment outside Fastworks for work found through Fastworks. Off-platform payments aren't protected by escrow, and we may suspend accounts that ask for them.
7. Conduct
Don't post anything illegal, false, misleading, abusive, hateful, sexual, or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't harass people, write fake reviews, create fake accounts, spam, scrape, or interfere with the service. You can report any message, review, profile or request, and block any account. We review reports and may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
8. Your content
You own what you post. You give Fastworks a licence to host, display and use it to run and promote the marketplace (for example, showing your reviews on your profile). Reviews must reflect a real job.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account) once nothing is in progress: no active contract, money in escrow, earnings to withdraw or payments processing. See the privacy policy for what we delete and keep. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law; money owed to you in escrow is still handled under section 5.
10. Liability
We work to keep Fastworks running and accurate, but provide it "as is". We don't guarantee the quality, safety or legality of services offered, or that any request or pitch leads to a job. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid Fastworks in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Fastworks means you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by Singapore law, and the Singapore courts have jurisdiction.
